Sleepyhead anyone?

Does anyone have experience with this item? My newborn will be in a crib downstairs but a full sized cot upstairs next to me (breastfeeding baby, so will have the cot side off so it's like co sleeping) I want something to keep baby snug and enclosed as obviously the cot will be a large open space and baby won't feel secure.

If not a sleepyhead, any other things similar that you would recommend?

Yes, do not hesitate. Also great for co-sleeping if you need to. Ours went around the house with us and was used downstairs for naps as well as in the bed. Our little girl slept like a log between us in bed, completely safe.

We also had a Shnuggle moses basket which is slightly bigger than a normal basket. She would only sleep in those two things and even now at 7 months hasn't made it through a night in her cot...

I'm currently dithering about sleepyhead too - I think I've decided to get one but not sure about buying it yet (am 24 wks but having growth and blood pressure issues so not taking anything for granted iyswim)
Thing is I've seen today NCT shop have it for £89 which is the best price I've seen. Anyone know if it can generally be found for this price or if I should grab the opportunity? Seems to normally be £99.

I've just got one and like it but I'll be lucky if it lasts the suggested 8 months. I bought mine on amazon for £87.

Another sleepyhead lover here...had the smaller one so could co-sleep with him and then when moved to his own cot upgraded to the massive one, he loves it, it comes everywhere with us...complete and utter rip off for a bit of foam and padding though, they are very cheeky.

That's what I am struggling with-the price!! I am wondering if I could make something myself? I just fear the whole SIDS thing

My DS slept in a cocoonababy but I have heard great things about the sleepyhead, plus they do a 'grand' next size up version which can take them up to a year or so and stop them wandering in the cot

There are lots of cheaper 'nests' on the market if you're on a budget but for me it would be worth getting a tried and tested one and selling it on afterwards - I bet you'd get 50-60% of the origionsl cost back!

Faith I know...they really really need to urgently review their price as its completely inexcusable... But it is an investment as you will sue it so much (also doubles as travel cot at 1st so 1 less than to buy/lug around) and for a good nights sleep- you and baby- you'll pay anything when time comes!!

Peasinpod1-o I know, I have a ds2 who is 15 months old and doesn't know what sleep means!! He was Breast fed for a year and for the first 5 months was awake every hour on the hour to feed zzzz we tried all the Moses basket/crib/cot combo but in the end, in bed with us meant some zzz so this time I am being on the ball with it and looking for ways to avoid being in outer bed but right next to me. :)

I have three week old and would say its our best buy! Little one sleeps really well in it, it's very cosy and really handy when we go to other people's houses for dinner etc..he loves it! Definitely get one!!

Agree that it's one of the best things we bought! Every hour of relatively untroubled sleep made it more and more worth the stupid price tag.

We don't have one but I wish we had bought one. Friends have sworn by it. I will be buying one for the next DC should we feel brave enough to have another if DD ever decides to sleep through!

Buy one! Definitely worth it. Can't remember how many weeks old DD was when we bought it but noticed a big improvement and as others have said feels much easier to sleep in same bed too. We had less success with the larger version - she likes to move round cot and just found her way out, but it did help transition to cot. Enjoy your new baby!

Do they fit in crib (as in one smaller than a cot) or are they too big?

Im not sure purple id imagine there are dimensions on google. I would say just! My boy slept between feeds last night first time in 4 weeks. I feel so fresh haha. I co slept with the sleepy head propped it up slightly with towels and used ewan the dream sheep!

Purple you can pretty much squish them up so would think the smaller sleepyhead would fit in crib yes, large one def not!

I'm sold I didn't have to convince dh either-thats what 14 months of sleep deprivation does for you!
