elective caesarean after emergency one

Anyone opted for elective caesarean after an emergency one. I'm seeing consultant on Monday and worried I wont be offered the choice. I really don't want to go through the trauma of a vaginal birth and end up with a section anyway. My ds is now 9 so I'm worried they'll say its fine for a normal delivery. Help! X

Me! I was worried too but I was adamant that was what I wanted and despite on my first appointment being warned against it she accepted my wishes. Second app was just a case of booking my date. Also fwiw the elcs was brilliant - such a positive exp

They cannot refuse you, if you had Ceasarian before. But they will probably want to make sure that you understand all the options, so may send you to VBAC clinic anyway. That's what I was told by the consultant - they just want to make sure you know all positives and negatives of both elective Ceasarian and VBAC.
Myself, I am 99% sure I'll go for elective Cesarean, even though I am only 14 weeks and in my hospital the final decision is made at 36 weeks.

Elcs was a wonderful positive experience. I had no problems requesting one.

I'm getting an elcs this time, they didn't even really harp on about the risks at all, which is what I expected. I went in there expecting a fight & didn't get one. I did cry though, recalling my traumatic experience - whether that helped or not I have no idea!

I had no problem getting one either. Best of luck. Let us know how you get on.

I did loads of research expecting a battle to get a ELCS after my emergency one. My consultant was great and just said it was completely up to me. I said ELCS and she has booked me in at 36 weeks to choose a date and do pre op stuff. Couldn't have been easier despite my stressing about it.
