Terrible cramps in feet and legs

Please someone help! I am 16+4 and for the last week I've had such terrible cramps in my feet and calf that I have barely been able to sleep. It always kicks off just as I get into bed and relax ready for sleep - then BAM - feet go into mental spasms and I feel the cramps move up into my lower leg. I've suffered from cramp in my feet for years but it usually lasts only a minute or two, but this is a whole new level - stretching gives hardly any relief and walking around makes it a bit more bearable but it doesn't stop it. I've been drinking plenty and taking electrolytes and magnesium the last couple of days but it doesn't seem to be getting better. It is lasting all night :( Has anyone else had this and if so, PLEASE tell me how you got rid of it? I am EXHAUSTED!

I think magnesium is what worked for me but you could also try calcium and potassium in your diet (cheese and bananas!). I do calf stretches before bed and have sometimes had a hot water bottle between my calves too. Hope they ease off - it's horrific!

Ooh I had that. DH found it hilarious, the bastard. Drink loads of water, esp at night, and a pillow under my legs helped sometimes too.

drink plenty of water, keep legs warm.
magnesium helps as well, it is safe to take.

Bananas worked for me. I would have one in a smoothy and dometimes another later on in the day.
