Seriously!!!!!???

Excuse the maybe not so important topic but I am so sick of having dry lips/cracked lips and the cold!!!! ive already had tonsillitis just before Christmas and then full blown cold after and cold on and off and now back to full blown cold again! shivering, hot, sore neck and swollen glans and headaches! I really dont want to take days of work but I really should rest I am 7months pregnant also!!! just feel so awful! - sorry for the rant! could be worse I suppose!

I hear you on the dry skin and lips and have just come down with a horrid head cold so snot central here. It's my last full week at work and I could really do without this. Definitely not a glowing 27 weeks pregnant lady! I'm sure a good nights sleep would knock it on its head but can't remember when I last has one of them...

Dry cracked lips and a phantom toothache here ... I say phantom cos there is no tooth where the pain is and nothing sorts it lol

My lips are SO dry. Nose permanently blocked so mouth always dry too. Got saline nasal spray today, safe to use in pregnancy. Hope it'll stop my nightmares about suffocating...

Yes! I think my skin is going to blow off like sand, it's so dry! And it tends to be on the oilier side most of the year.

Oh I am glad im not the only one to have a cold constantly!!! - surely if im constantly unwell like this cant be good for baby could this be true?!?! xx

Im the same! I have been poorly for the last 20 weeks out of my 23 week pregmancy.
Cold, virus, sickness bug, sinus infection.
Constant blocked nose and then runny snot. My lips are so dry they spilt when I sneeze.

I assume it doesn't affect baby but im so tired I can't remember why I think this!

Your immune system is pretty compromised during pregnancy, it's what allows you to carry this little foreign object in your body.

ok so I've been to the doctor and ive been prescribed anti biotics (penicillin) and I also have thrush sorry tmi and a fever. I am literally bed bound cannot get up feek awful! does anyone think I should visit the hosp to check baby out or because doctor said urine and BP is ok just to hold off???? I keep worrying it may be pre eclampsia or may have more chance of preterm birth? I am 28weeks. I also have (not sure still do) but complete placenta praevia? just worrying sorry

No need to apologise, pregnancy is a worrying time. If your bp is fine then pre-eclampsia isn't anything to worry about, and placenta praevia is not a concern unless you have a bleed.

Mostly what you need to do is relax and give yourself the time to get better. Take some paracetamol and get some sleep, you'll feel much better one the antibiotics start working :)

I rang midwife when I felt like that, she said see gp and rest. Not interested in seeing me, is that is any use to you?

oh i do feel sorry for you. the blocked nose and not being able to take any relief for it is just the worst. urgh to stupid colds :(

I still have fever and ive been taking anti biotics and paracetamol since 1pm friday! and still feel terrible! I dont no if I should wait another day or call kidwife or out of hours doctor and explain nothings changed! I no it might take a few days but surely the paracetamol should do somthing in meantime? I am getting no sleep its impossible to get to sleep! - :( so hard with 18month old and 4year old ahhh!!! x

aw ouch thats sore! hope u feel better soon. the thing is the doctor didnt no where the infection was from just said i had a high fever and other symtoms if infection.. my throats a bit sore but dont think its tonsillitis xxxx
