Question about boobs...

Hi there

I'm between 8-9 weeks pregnant with my second and my boobs are quite lumpy and painful. It feels like I'm bruised and I'm getting a lot of pains in each boob today - a kind of throbbing pain.

All the descriptions about how your boobs should feel during pregnancy use 'sore' and 'sensitive', not lumpy and painful / bruised.

Is this normal?

It's 5 years since I was last pregnant so hard to remember quite how they felt last time, but my recollection is more sore and tingly / sensitive rather than lumpy and painful.

Grateful for any thoughts as I'm a bit worried about what's going on with them!
Thanks!

I'm 11 weeks and my boobs are sometimes unbearably sore. They throb and I get stabby pains. This is my 4th pregnancy and I've had the same each time. Wearing the wrong bra makes things much worse. I've got a huge number in different styles and sizes and keep changing them till I'm comfortable. Seamless crop tops work ok, though not that supportive or flattering.

thanks for your replies.

Good to know I'm not the only one Bonzo!

Perhaps I'll get them checked with the GP in a couple of weeks if it carries on like this, as you suggest Mum2....

Thanks again

Mine are extremely painful, which is weird for me as I never get sore boobs during my cycle.

My advice? If you think there's anything at all a bit awry, ask your doc on your next visit. That's what they are there for. Explain that it's not like your previous pregnancy and it feels a bit wrong.
