carry cot to sleep in?

We have a moses basket but as we live in quite a small flat and have limited space I was wondering if we could use the carry cot that comes with our pram for the baby to sleep in our room for the first while?

to be honest the carry cot does look more comfortable than the moses basket! but I don't want to use it if it's not recommended for night time sleeping

Some are some aren't designed for sleeping over night. Check the specification, uppababy is for example

What make/model is your carrycot? It usually says in the leaflet whether it's suitable or not.

Mine was suitable and the baby used for a while

I couldn't see the point of a Moses basket as we already had a carrycot too. I just bought a replacement mattress for the carrycot - one that was suitable for overnight. DD only lasted 8 weeks in it anyway as she liked to fling her arms around so she went into her proper cot. I'd have been gutted if I had shelled out on a Moses too. She did stay in the carrycot for walks until she was bursting out of it at about 5 months though. Hope that helps.

I was in exactly the same position and bought the Uppababy Vista as it said it was suitable for overnight sleeping. It was great, never regretted lack of Moses basket Grin
