manicure and pedicure (very sick)

Hi, I'm nearly four weeks pregnant (just found out) and today without thinking went for a manicure and pedicure at the nail salon. Anyway, when I got home I got really sick (dizzy, nauseaus, hot sweats). This went on for a couple of hours. Just wanted to know if at this early stage in my pregnancy this could cause birth defects in my baby since it got me so sick. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated as i am very worried.

I've not heard that this could cause any probs - I had a pedicure when I was 12 weeks preg with no problems. Pretty certain everything will be fine.

I think it's just a coincidence, maybe you are over tired or it could just be the smell of nail varnish. i wouldn't worry

Thanks for your input. It was definetely the fumes from the nail varnish that made me sick. Do you think this could cause birth defects by inhaling for an hour.
