Induction on a weekend?

I'm 41+1 today with induction booked for Thursday. Had 2 sweeps with bishops score of 2 for both so nothing doing. I haven't wanted to be induced but my next choice to get baby out by 42 weeks is Saturday.

My question is is it wiser to avoid induction on a weekend due to possible staffing issues? I'm going to be at Kings. TIA!

I had a EMCS, it was fine. Birth is a tricky business and I think it's best to not panic too much. I know it's harder to do than say though Flowers

I would opt for a later induction. I wasn't induced until 41+5.

Number3, I have bipolar disorder and they want to keep me in for rest and monitoring. I can't really refuse, I argued them down from 5.

Thanks thisfence and everyone, I'm sorry if my responses are vague or impersonal, a mix of phone typing and feeling a bit stressed. I've compromised and booked one for Friday.

If it helps I was induced midweek and gave birth on a Monday. Staffing the same every day I was there. Ended up with an EMCS with a general anaesthetic and was home 2 nights later.

I have a physical health condition that means I need a side room. Always got one eventually, not always first night though. But you could be kept in your private delivery room until they have one available if agreed with hospital etc. ask your mental health midwife for advocacy if you need it in hospital.

To be honest, I'd enjoy the 24/7 help and rest whilst on the ward Smile

Not sure about you, but I have been treated at the Centre for Anxiety and disorders over the road (anxiety disorder and OCD)

They will certainly have all the help you need on hand at Kings. You are definitely in the right place.
