Hi, first time poster so please go easy just wanted some advice/reassurance.

Currently 35+5 days pregnant with my first and due to gestational diabetes I have an induction date for 39 weeks.

I have no idea what to expect. Having not given birth before I have nothing to compare it too. The information I have been given is to expect to be in a few days but other than that pretty clueless.

Has anyone got any experience of this or advice?

Thank you! Smile

Hi, I was induced at 38+5 for diet controlled GD. Birth was fine no complications. Important to give baby a feed within the hour to stabalise baby's blood sugar. Then they test baby with heel prick every so often to check to make sure it has stabilised. Had my dd at 1.30pm on Thursday. Allowed to leave 6pm next day.

Hi, thanks for the reply, how long did induction take for you? Also did they ask you to start expressing early for 'top up' feeds?
Congratulations on the birth of your baby! :)
