So wow- positive pregancy test ok about 8 various tests pregancy on Friday (cd52 -dpo 9 or 10 ff said but ovia said I never ovulated ) today the cb digi said 1-2 weeks.

Called and booked a gp appointment today - first time I have been given a next day appt - normally its three weeks!

Dh wants to come too - is it worth it? What happens?

I will be telling the gp how scared of weight gain I am - bmi is 27 and I was losing weight whilst ttc as thought my irregular cycles would improve with weight loss. But what will she want from me?

Anyone have advice? It's wandsworth / St George's hosp area.

Congratulations!

Don't want to put a downer on your excitement but honestly, they won't do anything. Won't even re-test. Totally not worth your DH taking time off work.

I just got referred to the midwife for my booking appt:)

Sorry but it is total waste of time appt. they will not check or retest pregnancy.
If you can self-refer to hospital you can totally skip GP.

Possibly all what they will say is to take folic acid, what you probably know and are taking already. I git my prenatals next day after positive test.

Thanks for letting me know- will send him to work!

I thought was much but when I asked the receptionist what to do next this was my only option!

Yup all tanked on pre vits - what do people take? They aren't half pricey in boots!

Well just in work now after appt, i was there 30 mins!
She was utterly lovely!
-took BP

  • chatted throught he fact my cycle is a mess so putting me in touch with a midwife sooner than later, talked through what to do and not do,
-what to eat if i feel sick (said it is to do whth blood sugar so to eat crackers or a little flat coke to boost the sugar levels a little?) -gave me a Emmas Diary book, and lots of SUrgery handouts with infomation on them that she developed.
  • Talked through cramping pain and that it might happen and to take paracetamol
  • told me when and how to get myself to the local hosp Early preg unit any time of day and not to panic or feel guilty about going
  • WHY i am to take vits
  • and was just generally lovely.

I explained my mum had 8 MCs and she said what to do if i was worried and she was there for me to talk through things and what to do if it does happen.

Phew. So yeah... bring it on little poppy seed!

Wow, sounds like you've found a good one. Lucky thing!
Mine was barely interested and I've been working it out for myself ever since. I'm hoping to get some reassurance from the midwives when I go for my booking apt this week.
