Need help with conception dates!

Hello, new to this so hope I'm writing in the correct place! I'm a little confused and would like a little help on when I possibly conceived. Unfortunately I don't know when my last period was. I had intercourse on 16th December and 26th December. On the 1st January I had what I have been told was an implantation bleed, it was slightly heavier but definitely not a normal period. I had a scan last week and was told I am around 8 weeks 2 days. Obviously considering the scans can be a few days out, would I have been more likely to conceive on the 16th or 26th as I had the bleed 5days later?
I hope that all makes sense. I have asked my doctor etc but they don't seem very willing to help me.

I agree with pp. You are 8 weeks - that's how they date pregnancies in the UK. 8 weeks pregnant MEANS 6 weeks since conception - the sonographer doesn't have to deliberately add any time on.

For comparison - my LMP was on 7 Dec, and I ovulated/conceived around about 23 December, and I am just over 11 weeks pregnant.

I've commented on your other thread but everyone has explained this better, sounds like you conceived on the 6th January.

Can this be right ? According to my scan, i would have conceived around May 22.
Are scans accurate though for saying this ?
Which don’t make sense to me as my last period was 14th May to 20 May

Hey,

For your conception date you need to take the babies age at the scan
E.g. 16 weeks, then take away 2 weeks = 14 weeks, then work back 14 weeks from the day of your scan.
The two weeks is to allow for the time the egg was developing pre conception.

Okay thank you 😊 I was 12 weeks and 6 days on my 12 week ultrasound which was on 6th august

I got told at scan was 22 May

Scan dates are not accurate! Apparently they put you a few days forward or a few days back so it’s all confusing to me

Yes I get the same @BonnieLouise does seem odd to have ovulation so soon after your period.
At my recent scan I was told they could be 2 days out either way.

It’s all confusing can scans be accurate with how many weeks you are ? as was put 6 days forward to what i thought i was.

At my Scan i was told you would of conceived around 22 May
Or 22 May plus or minus a few days so it’s confusing could of been a few days after the 22 May or a few days before 22 May
