Not only have I been suffering badly with piles for the past 4 weeks, I just had a bath and discovered what I think is a vaginal haemorrhoid.

Confidence is at an all time low. Due in 2 weeks but finding it hard to get excited as worried what effect the birth will have on all my problems downstairs.

So happy to be having my baby but feel like I'm losing all my self confidence.

Oh my! Really sorry you're havibg a rough time op, but the end is in sight Smile
A couple of weeks to go and you'll get your first cuddles and all will be forgotten hopefully.
No advice to offer, never heard of this before. I actually had to google it Blush
Make sure you mention it to the mw asap because as you say, you need to know how it will be affected.
Chin up and happy smile, youre almost there! Flowers

Poor you ... We do go through the mill growing these little miracles for sure! It may not be what you think it is ... as we get bigger and babe gets heavier we swell ... a lot ... down there ... making it feel HUGE lol!! Definitely ask the midwife to confirm ... If it is anything requiring treatment then it's best sooner rather than later ... will be able to confirm whether it's just a pile from the rear pushing against the vaginal wall or not :)

anbusol ointment worked really for me for piles - so much fund having to discuss it in Boots!

Thanks ladies! It's good to hear that others have similar problems! Not long till baby due so I'm just going to focus on that :)

You want anusol not anbesol, that's for gums and it might sting slightly! Grin piles are horrid, I'm suffering aswell. I keep telling myself it will all be forgotten when the baby comes, and secretly wish piles on my dp so he can stop making fun of me!

This pregnancy has been a nightmare, I've had haemorrhoids for the first time, so many braxton hicks and a repeat of the SPD from last time. Add to that I got hospitalised with pneumonia and pleurisy! Not a glamorous experience is it lol? Good thing they are worth it when they are here :)

Hotpotpie · 23/02/2015 21:21

From past experience the haemorrhoids shrink pretty quickly after birth, soon be over now, I can totally sympathise though mine were Huge with my daughter

If you think you have a vulval varicosity (yes it has a name) get the mw to check it out at your next appt. They may want to assess it for delivery. Most are OK but depending on positioning of it they may want to make plans for management at delivery/mode of delivery. If you went into labour before, then mention it when you are admitted and a doctor can have a quick look.
