How do people not tell anyone?!

Don't people find it really hard not to tell people they are pregnant? I'm one day in and it's sooooo hard! X

It's hard but we only told our parents my grandparents and bil & sil we kept if from everyone else until 16 weeks even then was only really family, we told the world as such at 20 weeks. I'd had multiple losses previously so didn't dare tempt fate it was lovely having our little secret :)

I was terrified of things going wrong (again) and do didn't want to tell people. I let in when I had to because I was starting to show, at 13-14 weeks.

I made the mistake of telling people far too early with my first. I was still trying to get used to the idea and get over the shock! DP really wanted to post the scan pic on FB, so I agreed, and you could see the 'likes' getting higher and higher right in front of my eyes.

From then I was bombarded with the usual well meaning cliches, some unwanted advice and a few unhelpful comments. Of course there were many well wishers too, but I found it all so overwhelming that by the end of my pregnancy, I was sick of talking non stop about babies! I wanted to be 'me' for a while longer in the beginning if that makes sense.

This time around, I'd much rather keep it a bit keep more discreet. More like, 'Oh yeah, everyone, meet baby, and a picture of me looking glowing in hospital ( ok, going a bit far I know! ) Although I'm starting to show already. Argh! So I'll probably not be able to hide it for too much longer!

The first week was hell! But it does get easier. We told parents at 8 weeks and will tell close friends after scan (14weeks). It's rather nice having a secret with DH...
