Being induced at the moment had 1st lot of gel at 11 am didn't feel any pains at wasn't surprised when they said I needed a 2nd gel at 5pm. Pretty much straight away tightenings started. I've been having pains every 3/4 min lasting around 20/30 seconds they're now getting stronger and lasting that bit longer.
However she's just examined me and my cervix hasn't changed at all. What the hell??? How can I be getting all this pain and it nor doing anything? The pains r in the tops of my legs and across bottom of my stomach. Midwife told Me try get some sleep but I can barely lie down I'm much more comfortable stood up swaying. Dh was sent home ages ago im so disheartened tired fed up and in pain I want to cry Sad

Have they given you any painkillers? If not, ask and you might get some paracetamol to help you sleep. Or just go for a walk around the ward if possible and then try to settle again.

The contractions will be doing something - this is the start [excited emoticon]. Good luck.

OP I had a similar situation when I was induced, had 12 hours of excruciating contractions without dilating, they checked me at just before 7am and I was barely 1cm dilated, in the time it took to run a bath I was 10 and my waters had broken, she was born at 7:12am. Think sometimes it just happens. Congratulations on your baby! Flowers
