I am away on holiday at the moment and 23 weeks pregnant. Last week, I had 4-5 days of increased v. smelly discharge.
I had an appointment with a local doctor to organise a scan while I was here so mentioned it to him at the time. He seemed unbothered, said it could be yeast or normal, just wait and see. Helpful... NOT. Have no itching etc. I went to the chemist and got some over the counter Canesten equivalent, but they gave me 1% cream that you have to use for minimum of 7 days, as so weak, cos no Dr consent.
Have left it a few days and it has settled down and virtually no smell at all. (sorry tmi!). Having read dr google, big mistake I am worrying I have bacterial vaginosis and going to go into pre term labour as not treated!! I have an appointment with my GP when I return in a weeks time. Should I just wait as it has settled a bit? Or use the thrush cream, in case that is what I have? Can only do 5 days now as travelling others. Seems that bacteria infection can ascend, but thrush unlikely? Will using Canesten now affect swab results if needed by GP? Arrgh.
Why is it thinks never go to plan when away. Am I worrying needlessly?
