What do the first kicks feel like?

Exactly as it says really. . .I'm 21+1 and have been feeling movement on & off, irregular-ish for around 3 weeks. . .nothing for days then lots of activity (tonight & today). Almost fluttery in nature, nothing at all painful, just. . .noticeable. Am I feeling early kicks?!

stacebazza · 19/02/2015 20:55

Thats what they feel like hun

weelamb123 · 19/02/2015 20:55

Yes, sounds like it. Is it like something 'flicking' u from the inside? X

stqueen · 19/02/2015 20:59

Yes, really fleeting little twists/pops, hard to describe but from other posts Im concluding kicks Grin. . .not that I'm worried but they're irregular. . .hopefully its because this is DC1 & its still reasonably early on. I'm sure they'll come on in abundance over the next few weeks!

Sounds like movements to me!

Mine felt more like being booted with a tiny iron foot though

MrsJuice · 19/02/2015 21:10

Bubbly sensations, quite low down.
Earliest I have felt them is 10 weeks (DD2). With DD3 it was 15 weeks.

KittieCat · 19/02/2015 21:15

For me it felt like bubbly wind!

carbolicsoaprocked · 19/02/2015 21:19

Mine were sort of like pops, then the flicking and now fluttering. They were totally irregular at the start, didn't even feel them everyday. So lovely!

stqueen · 19/02/2015 21:23

That's where I am now - not quite every day but felt for the last 2 so hopefully a sign that baby is getting stronger! Seems to be mainly when I'm doing bugger all sitting / driving. . .such a weird yet lovely feeling!

Like bubbles popping Smile

I didn't like it when it became noticeable kicks, it freaked me out but then I got used to it and loved the feeling.

HolgerDanske · 19/02/2015 21:25

Like fluttering in your belly.

It's one of the things I really miss about being pregnant.

Makemeanappledumpling · 19/02/2015 21:27

Yes, that's it op :)

Like fluttery butterflies / bubbles but oh so gentle :)

It really is magical isn't it ?

Congratulations!

gingerfluffball · 20/02/2015 10:06

Like popcorn popping against your tummy wall. It's lovely, I quite miss those little kicks now I've got big feet and arms digging me in the ribs!

gingerfluffball · 20/02/2015 10:07

And I also first noticed it when I was driving Smile

pinkie1982 · 20/02/2015 10:09

Like pitter-pattering. I am 19+5 DC1 and this last few days I can feel the 'kicks' from the outside. Been having daily movement for the last three weeks though. DP is yet to feel them. Baby seems to know when I've told him to put his hand there.
The other sensation I am getting is like my stomach is going over, like when you are on a rollercoaster or going over a hump back bridge

beno57 · 20/02/2015 10:12

bubbly wind for me, so it has taken a while to be sure they are kicks, what with all the wind and bloating :)

NurseP · 03/03/2015 21:54

I'm not sure if what I think are first movements aren't I fact just wind! Like bubbles but also kind of buzzing/ light vibration? Last for a few seconds on da ar a time, maybe a minute. This is first baby, am 20 +5. I have only felt this about 4 times though so not even once every day. Should I feel more by now? Is it just wind? - I have had plenty of wind! Blush

EffinIneffable · 05/03/2015 10:21

I think I might have felt first movements last night. Like bubbles popping against my insides, kind of left a bit and a bit down from my belly button. I'm 18+6. Does that sound right? Or just wind? So hard to know, but I'm totally impatient for some reassurance that all is OK in there.

OMC1 · 05/03/2015 13:05

I am so glad I've seen this thread! Last night I am sure In felt something - it was a little bit like pinkie1982 described, sort of my tummy rolling like going over a bridge, but quite tickly! I am 16+6 so didn't expect it this soon, what do you all think?

Bumpsadaisie · 05/03/2015 13:23

Feels like a tiny fish is blowing little bubbles in your gum.

Enjoy it. Soon you'll be getting whacked!

Bumpsadaisie · 05/03/2015 13:23

gum? I mean tum!

usernamefeefifoe · 05/03/2015 16:46

I was feeling them for a few days before I knew exactly what they were. To me I felt them like bubbles popping on the inside of my tum, then fish jumping/flipping. It was after my 20 weeks scan before I realised what was happening for sure
