how many nappies?

I want to stock up on disposable nappies in the next few months while I'm still working, so I'm not buying them all out of my princely maternity pay in the first six months. I won't buy too many newborn size, in case I have a giant heffalump baby, but I wondered how many nappies a day babies get through so I can calculate how many we'll use? really can't remamber from last time, it was a long time ago!

in the early days - a lot! I used to change every 2 hours until about 6 weeks old.

Then every 3 hours.

Mine are now 2 and 1 and they go through an average of 6 a day each.

When ds was newborn he got through about 10 a day for the first couple of weeks until his bowel system settled into the pattern of feeding. I'd hazard a guesstimate of around 6-8 nappies a day for the first year or so.

Also, he was only in pampers newborns for two weeks and then it was size 2 for about 2 months then the active fit after that as they were the only ones I found that contained all the runny poo when he was wriggling around.

If you are breastfeeding you need a few ... bf babies can have lots of poos, and at any time of day ...
Bottlefed babies tend to poo less often ...

That is my experience anyway ...
