Hello I know this is not a very nice post but I am very worried, I have blood in my poo when I go to the toilet, very loose as well. its definitely coming from my bottom not my vagina. it is red blood in my poo and when I wipe. could someone tell me if they have had this or no what it is? this is my first pregnancy and its worrying me :(

Do you have piles?

It happens to me a lot in pregnancy!

Is it sore when you wipe?

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 13:13

I dont know :/

not sore no,

it was itchy the last couple days then this morning I really needed to go and i ended up going twice and both times was just blood.

if I wipe without going toilet there is no blood :/

Get a mirror and have a look. It's possibly piles and you will see lumps round your bum hole (sorry can't think of another way to put it) Dab gently and see if blood comes away - should be bright red. I believe piles can be internal as well. Have you had an itchy bum?

Joyfulldeathsquad · 17/02/2015 13:16

Fissure or piles. I had both! Sad

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 13:18

yeah been itchy at night !! and when I dab there is no blood. just when I go toilet , its mushy with red blood lol sorry tmi

what should I do?

It could be a mild tear near your bottom hole. I have had this before ??
I saw my GP who wasn't concerned and said a small amount of blood can look like an awful lot in the toilet bowl.
Try not to worry and give your GP a call

bobs123 · 17/02/2015 13:19

Have you had a look?

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 13:21

yeah nothing around outside maybe could be inside?

Either squat over a mirror (magnified is better) or if you have a full length mirror lie down really close in front of it with your legs in the air!!!

bobs123 · 17/02/2015 13:23

Possibly. would suggest in any case seeing the GP. He will want to know what colour it is.

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 13:23

yep nothing on the outside :/

So if external piles ruled out, see the GP. Could be something or nothing but always best to seek help/assurance when pg as everything can be worrying!

Mine are on the inside, outside its fine.

It's usually when I have been erm constipated for a few days that it's really bad!
Bright red blood, not lots but there when I wipe.

Not there if I don't pooh.

Sorry if that's a bit graphic.

Try not to worry, but see your GP as they can help.

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 13:34

Thank you for your help, as long as it's nothing to do with the baby

do u think it could be pregnacare tablets I am taking ? they are vitamins but are red in colour ?

I had this for weeks 17-22. No external piles, but seemingly lots of blood every time I had a bowel movement (which wasn't very often). I only consulted Dr Google, which reassured me that it's common, so I didn't worry about it. Constipation comes with pregnancy and as long as the blood isn't from the vagina, the baby is fine (is what I read on the NHS website)

GoooRooo · 17/02/2015 14:11

stephanie I know this may seem obvious but have you eaten beetroot recently? If so, the results the other end can look like blood. I freaked myself out completely once having forgotten that I had beetroot for dinner the day before.

scarednoob · 17/02/2015 14:25

I've not had this but if it's been itchy too, it sounds v much like pregnancy piles. I'd pop to the dr, put your mind at rest, fingers crossed for you!

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 15:56

no beat root but had beetroot crisps. only other things red i been eating is tomatoes & salsa and my vitamin tablets are red and thats it. lol

Might be the beetroot crisps according to this other mumsnet thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/a1253768-Erm-wasnt-sure-where-to-put-this-but-BEETROOT-poo

stephanie19926 · 17/02/2015 16:19

thankyou :) I am waiting for doctor to ring me back. wouldn't it be purple tho ? lol

OP posts:
GoooRooo · 17/02/2015 16:21

Definitely worth checking with the dr, but I hope it turns out to be the crisps Smile
