I've been reading my healthy eating guide and it suggests:

5 portions fruit/veg
4 portions of wholemeal bread/potatoes/cereal
2 portions of lean meat/fish
1 PINT of milk or cheese
Healthy fats eg avocado/ nuts

Is it just me or does this seem a whole lot of food for a day!!

Well if you break it down. A portion of wholemeal bread is 1 slice. So if you had cereal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and some potatoes for dinner then that's 4 servings.

5 portions of fruit and veg - standard say 1 with breakfast, 1 snack, 2 with dinner, 1 as desert?

2 portions of lean meat or fish (one with lunch, one with dinner)

nuts and fruit to snack.

The milk/cheese thing sounds like a lot because I am not a massive dairy fan

Maybe I am just a fattymcfatfat though Smile
