We are making a little Baby Shower party for a lovely friend. Low key, as that's what she'd like. We would like to buy her a baby shower gift. She's due in April and there are only a few of us. What gift ideas could you suggest? Thank you!

Useful things like boxes of nappies, maybe in a couple of different sizes so she won't have to buy them for a while. Or boxes of wipes. Formula if she's using it. Breastpads, maternity pads. Toiletries for the baby. Something to make her feel special like a spa in a box kind of thing. A nice change bag if she doesn't already have one.

Yes what she said!! Baby onesies, rattles and basic toys. I didn't buy any.

Or you could club together and get her something she wants? Like a Moses basket, or baby swing?

Are you going to play any 'games' for my friend we did a 'tea party' type thing although there were about 20 of us in the end! but I bought 20 plain white bibs from Amazon and a pack of fabric markers and we each did a design. I thought it would be lame but everyone got into it. My friend said it was one of the best presents because she would never have thought to buy so many bibs and she uses them ALL The time, and she never runs out. My design was pretty...ahem.... abstract.... but she still thinks of the fun baby shower every time

We got our friend a couple of pairs of DiaryDoll so she wouldn't have to use ugly/plastic/throwaway pants after birth! They're just waterproof pants, but look and feel like normal ones so it avoids the nappy feeling. She loved them! Stopped her having to worry about leaking or anything and looked pretty.

I am asking people to give me books that they enjoyed as a child. I have baby grows coming out of my ears- trying to build baby's library, as that's something worth keeping and something personal.

What about a baby chair?

My DS LOVED his when he was born and it was a god send. He used to sit next to me in it whilst I got ready and put my make up on or had a cup of tea.

The ones that bounce gently and vibrate are the best and they play a nice lullaby.

I'm getting on for this baby too - 100%!!! Smile
