Anyone recently induced at Kings?

Hi ladies,

I'm booked for an induction at Kings this Fri and wondered if anyone can share their recent experience? They gave me a leaflet but I'd love to hear first hand experience. I had my heart set on a natural birth so this has been disappointing news...

I googled it and a lady said that she was inserted with a pessary and then left to it in the induction ward and didn't even make it into the labour room as she progressed far quicker than the normal 24 hours.

I was induced at Kings- had my pessary put in and then went to Nandos in Camberwell!

Oh good, I'm glad to hear that don't have to be stuck in the bed, that's my nightmare!!

OP if they have suggested inducing you at 40+10, which is their usual first offer, it's worth remembering that they are pretty used to women asking to defer this to 40+14. They will offer you a scan at 40+10 instead, and a chat with the consultant. If you'd rather wait it out a bit longer, you won't be rocking any boats particularly if you ask for this.

Friday is a long way off anyway in pregnancy terms!
