Hi all
I have a few days/ evenings out coming up these next few months and am getting tired of ordering orange juice topped up with lemonade. Does anyone have any more exciting or interesting suggestions for what us pregnant ladies can drink in a bar or with a meal?

If you find out let me know - if I drink one more elderflower pressed I may scream

MissTwister · 14/02/2015 15:40

*presse

Here are some of my favourites:

Fresh mint, cucumber, sugar and tonic water with a squeeze of lime is very refreshing.

Rocks shandy (angostura, roses lime, soda, lemonade and fresh lime).

Ginger beer and cranberry or ginger beer and pomegranate.

Fresh mint tea.

Citron presse (lemon juice, sugar, water)

A G&T special - tonic without the gin Sad and a squeeze of lime

Strawberry daquiris mocktail

Lemonade with lime

Some great suggestions thanks.

Have you all found these drinks available everywhere?

I've struggled to even get elderflower at some places... when asked what alcohol free things they can offer I get told fizzy drinks, cordial and becks blue. So have given up and just have water, not a massive fan of fizzy drinks.

If you go to places that do cocktails they should have alcohol free ones. Ginger ale with angustoran bitters is nice. Or could have cranberry juice and orange juice, kind of a sex on the beack without the booze

I like lime and soda, it's nice a sharp and dry (I find lime and lemonade too sweet).

A fiery ginger beer with angostura bitter and a sprinkle of nutmeg whisked in.

my fave non alcholohc drink at the moment is tonic water with a dash or two of apple cider vinegar in it. Bloody delicious

froomeonthebroom · 14/02/2015 17:41

Ginger ale with ice and a slice was my pregnant go to drink

MissTwister · 14/02/2015 17:57

If I see a mocktail I am overjoyed. I had a grapefruit fizz thing at Burger and Lobster which was delish

Emz1989 · 14/02/2015 20:58

I've been to a few places and requested a 'non-alcoholic cocktail that's fruity' and let the bar man invent something tasty! I've had a selection of gorgeous drinks!

Whatabout · 14/02/2015 21:00

I had two lovely mocktails tonight. Delighted!

lastnightiwenttomanderley · 15/02/2015 05:39

I love a Ginger ale and whisky, so it's now ginger ale and lime. Also the cucumber, minty, sugary affair mentioned upthread.

Virgin Mary - Bloody Mary with out the Vodka ?

2015isgoingtobeBIG · 15/02/2015 10:59

Had a mock Bellini last night with rhubarb purée and soda water....absolutely blooming gorgeous. Will try other mock bellinis now instead of the usual lemonade, fruit juice or sickly sweet mocktails

snowaccidentprone · 15/02/2015 11:03

Pineapple juice and soda, ice, no lemon.

And remember to stir otherwise it's watery on top.

Or Limonata (proper Italian? Lemonade)

rosedavo · 15/02/2015 14:22

Sainsburys do a really nice non alcoholic sparkling wine/champagne. The normal non alco wine is abit dodgy!

jessplussomeonenew · 15/02/2015 19:47

You can make a very nice non-alcoholic mojito with lime cordial, apple juice, lemonade and loads of mint.

Chocolatecakefan · 15/02/2015 19:57

I had a mock tail at a restaurant last week and we recreated it this afternoon, elderflower cordial, Apple juice, and lemonade or soda water with a slice of lime.

Bloody lovely!

skyra13 · 15/02/2015 21:44

On a Sunday with dinner at inlaws I have 0%beer I like the becks one with lemonade to make a shandy also like the pear cider non alcoholic taste like pear drops, non alcoholic drinks still have a little in but not going to harm baby or you. Also the shalor I think it spelt like that fizzy grape juice is alot like a sweet wine also nice cold, hope that's a little help.

monkeyfacegrace · 15/02/2015 21:46

I just have a bottle of beer Smile

Emma321q · 16/02/2015 14:03

Loads of excellent ideas - can't wait to try them all. I have just been out and bought elderflower cordial and elderflower pressé so looking forward to trying them first.

Koppaberg do 3 non alcoholic flavours at my local tesco and I love it!

The pear is so nice over ice - it's a bit like a nicer appletiser - I drink it even when not of.

Also like Shirley temples - ginger ale and grenadine with a wedge of lime.

Wink
