Hello everyone.
I'm so confused I took a pregnancy test after missing a period which turned out positive (yay) had symptoms of sore breasts sorry tmi! I started to get lower back pain and began to go off certain foods. On occasion I would get cramps which I thought was normal but this morning I started to bleed, it wasn't a lot to start off but now it's gone heavier. Am I not pregnant? I'm so upset after ttc for so long my little bit of hope is fading.
Thanks If anyone can help

Hi Starfish, sorry you are experiencing this. Its hard to tell what is happening unless you get a scan...I think 30% of women bleed in the first trimester and carry on to have healthy pregnancies. Unfortunately sometimes it can also be a miscarriage. It will be hard to tell until you get an early scan but indicators in my experience is how heavy the bleed is. Is there a lot of blood like a period and is it bright red? How far along are you? If the bleed carries on you could try testing again, if it is a mc you might find the test has become negative. Im so sorry you are going through this. I had a few mc before having my 2 healthy boys, its so hard and unfair, but it doesnt mean you won't have a baby. Having said all this it could also be an early pregnancy bleed, best contact an epu in the morning. Keep us posted x x

All you can do is rest and let mother nature take care of things one way or another ... I will keep everything crossed for you. If it gives you any hope at all I had full periods for the first 4 months of my first pregnancy!! Some people get bleeds and all turns out ok ... All you can do is sit tight and see how things go in next couple days x

Sorry to hear that starfish

I'd let it do it's thing then test once it's finished. If it is a mc (really hope it's not) you will carry on having HCG in your system for a while yet so will possibly still show positive on a test Sad

sianihedgehog · 13/02/2015 11:02

Hi starfish unfortunately if it is a miscarriage you can continue to test positive even after the miscarriage. Ring your gp and they may send you for a scan at you early pregnancy unit.
Fwiw, I had quite heavy bleeding at 6 weeks in his pregnancy but it turned out just fine. There's just no way to tell except scanning and waiting.

Lauren94x can I just point out how very inconsiderate your hijacking of this lady's post is and you already have your own thread in which you gave been told your test is faulty and you need to retest.

Starfish please make appointment with go for bloodwork and a scan hun ... I'm so sorry you are suffering ... my mc at 10 weeks were painless but then I also had heavy painless bleeds with my first pregnancy for 4 months ... he's now 19!! So it can go either way ... but you can't rely on hpt to confirm either way xx

Littlefrenchmummy · 13/02/2015 22:40

Let us know how you get on starfish. Did you manage to get seen at an epu? Thinking of you x

Starfish25 · 19/02/2015 09:46

Starfish, I'm so sorry. I lost a few months ago, I know how rotten it all is. Take care of yourself, and next time I'm sure it will work out ok for you x

Starfish25 · 19/02/2015 15:52

I have been thinking could I have lost the baby due to me coming off the Depo injection? Been off it since June 2014. I'm just looking for answers really. Thanks If anyone can help

Starfish25 · 19/02/2015 21:07

How will I know when it's fully out of my system? I don't think I can go through another mc again.

Early miscarriages are REALLY common - at least 1 in 5 pregnancies. Nobody really knows why, although they think it might be the body's way of stopping things if there is something wrong with the embryo. You probably just got unlucky and it's nothing to do with the depo injection.

Jaffakake · 20/02/2015 20:19

Starfish, I very much doubt it has anything to do with the Depo. Early miscarriages are not uncommon & most times happen before we know it.

I've been pregnant twice, both times I was obviously fertile about 6 months after Depo ran out.

You'll be fine next time x x

Starfish25 · 24/02/2015 18:27

Thanks very much for the help everyone :) hopefully soon I'll be back with some good news!
