With my DD, it turned out when they swabbed her cord after birth that she tested positive for Strep B. She is fine, so have never really thought too much of it. Am now pregnant again (30 weeks) and its just occurred to me to wonder if that has an impact on this pregnancy - no one has said anything to us (yet).

I have a MW appointment next week - worth mentioning?

I would definitely mention it and I would ask to be tested between 35 and 37 weeks. If they won't do it, you can pay for a private test. I had a private test through the doctors laboratory - they send swabs through the post. It cost £35. Mine came back negative but it gave me piece of mind.

Strep b can cause serious problems if you have an active infection and the baby contracts it during labour xx
