Hi ladies,

Just looking for some reassurance basically as I'm completely freaking out worrying that something is wrong..I feel totally normal at 17 weeks, midwife checked the baby's heartbeat at 16 week appt which was at 15+5 & everything was fineSmileSmile . Literally just want my 20 week scan to hurry up to make sure everything is ok which is not until 9 March!!

Has anyone else had this? Xx

I'm almost 16w and although my bump is growing I'm completely symptom-less. I was desperate for my 12w scan and all was fine now I've got a 6 day wait for my 16w scan. It's freaking me out too. I think I felt flutters earlier but it could've been wind Grin

Lunastarfish · 10/02/2015 18:18

I'm 18 weeks, heard heart beat at 16 weeks but am feeling great at the moment so have the same worries. I felt the baby move for the first time last night and I'm finally starting to get a bit of a bump but can't wait for next scan!

5madthings · 10/02/2015 18:24

Yep had this with all five of mine, felt shit for 12_14 weeks, knackered and sick then from about 16 wks I felt fine, didn't get a bump till 20 wks either so it worried me each.time. But all was fine and my.bumped always popped out not long after 20 wk scan! Enjoy it for now :) and congratulations.

HollyC255552 · 10/02/2015 18:33

Thanks ladies..I seem to have quite a big bump considering this is my 1st or could I just be bloated?! GlitzAndGigglesx & Lunastarfish I keep having these weird little flutters & movements too but don't know if its wind? I'm literally counting down the days to my scan..Grin. 5madthings thank you - the worrying starts nows eh?!

I have been having a lot of wind the pass two weeks but the movement last night was very different to what I have been experiencing. I didn't fart so assume it was the baby!!Grin

Foggymist · 10/02/2015 19:36

You're complaining because you're feeling normal? What do you want, to be feeling sick and sh!t like a lot of the rest of us? Enjoy it and count your blessings. What do you think should be happening you like? I just don't get this attitude at all, people aren't content unless their puking their guts up or falling down with exhaustion as bizarre twisted "proof" that everything is ok, it proves nothing.

HollyC255552 · 10/02/2015 19:59

Jesssssus alright foggymist!! Sorry I have my concerns as a first timer!!

No need to be so rude Foggy! Confused

It's a tough time between 12 weeks and 20 week scan op. I am 18 weeks and got a surge of energy at around 15-16 weeks which I didn't have in my first pregnancy! I was certain something was the matter and even went for a private scan which was fine of course Smile

GlitzAndGigglesx · 10/02/2015 20:35

Foggy because some of us are worried something could've happened that's not yet been detected and the time between scans makes us anxious

HollyC255552 · 10/02/2015 21:21

Just need to get through these next few weeks now ladies. Positive thinking!!! GlitzAndGigglesx is that a common thing in your area having a 16w scan? We don't have that where I am.

Because foggy some of us have had miscarriages and previous losses which make us anxious. There is absolutely no need to be so bloody rude! I MC'd my first pregnancy and had very few symptoms. This is my second pregnancy and although the sickness wasn't very nice, I found it reassuring!

OP - I'm 19 + 5 now and feeling totally normal. All well with the baby so far. It's just what happens when the placenta kicks in. Try to enjoy it as I hear things go down hill again in the third trimester.

Teeste · 10/02/2015 21:48

I felt fairly normal from about 11 weeks to 18 weeks, a few unglamorous symptoms aside. Then I felt the bean moving halfway to 19 weeks and he's been getting stronger ever since. That in-betweeny time can be worrying as you have no feedback on whether everything's OK, but don't panic!

ImpatiencePersonified · 10/02/2015 22:13

I seriously hope that's just your hormones talking foggymist and you'll be back to apologise soon because having done a search on your username you're guilty of the odd unfounded wobble yourself and you certainly didn't receive the sort of response you just doled out.... You got support. Which is kind of why we're all here.... Who's more irrational than a hormonal woman after all? Grin
It's natural for women to be concerned, you know this, and if you don't like something's that's written.... Well close the post. Having a pop at someone isn't welcome.
OP I wish you well, and hope you continue to go through your pregnancy trouble free... I'll be high giving you at the end.

NurseP · 10/02/2015 22:18

Me too Holly. 12 week scan was fine but as I feel so 'normal' I keep worrying that something has happened but not been detected. 16 weeks appointment with MW this week - do they always listen for heart beat at this appointment? I hope so!

Not many words of wisdom but you are surely not alone! X

Littlecaf · 10/02/2015 22:39

I had sickness in first trimester, then everything magically felt normal at about 16 weeks to the extent I thought I'd made it up! (Even though 12w scan picture was on my phone I had to keep checking it was real!) Since week 20ish have had reflux, restless legs, now have pelvic pain - at 37+5 and it's very blumming real! Mumsnet threads kept me going through that middle bit though when I thought it was all too normal..... Best of luck!

Jannywannywoohoo · 11/02/2015 06:10

Totally get it! I was paranoid things weren't progressing cos I felt so normal! You'll be fine, make the most of it while you!! Smile the 20wk scan is a great milestone, and will put your mind at rest. But in the meantime try to enjoy! X

HollyC255552 · 11/02/2015 07:27

Thanks for your posts ladies really appreciated. I must start to make the most of before symptoms come back. Hehe.
NurseP apparently it depends on what region you live in but my mw checked the heartbeat for me at 16w. Maybe if she doesn't go to check you could ask her to. Xx

Holly I think so. I'm carrying twins so have to have scans every 4 weeks anyway. I can't remember how far apart my scans were with my first. I have my usual antenatal booked for 2 weeks after my 16w scan

JennyBlueWren · 11/02/2015 18:50

I'm 38+4 (due a week on Saturday) and I feel very normal. Apart from the huge bump which I keep forgetting about. Even the baby kicks have become so routine that I barely notice them now.

squizita · 11/02/2015 19:49

17 weeks is bang in the middle of the golden window between 1st trimester hell and being a big heffalump! Grin Sounds fairly normal to me: enjoy it!

MrsFbabyNo1 · 11/02/2015 20:19

18 weeks tomorrow and have felt perfectly fine throughout!!!!

OP, like you I did worry but now just feel so bloody lucky and v grateful. I like feeling fine and am so happy to not feel like death warmed up. All scans been ok and belly is definitely growing, can feel squirms and had odd few proper pokes!

Enjoy the easy time you're having as who knows how you'll feel later on. Fingers crossed for you (& me) feeling fine for a long time yet! Wishing you a happy n healthy pregnancy ??

HollyC255552 · 11/02/2015 21:45

Oh wow Glitz twins?! How exciting!!

Maybe I should just start enjoying feeling fine just in case I'm hit with a bad spell later on (hopefully not). Thanks JennyBlue, squizita & mrsfbaby for your posts.

Roll on March...
