Chicken pox!

Does anyone know if they test for chicken pox immunity in the standard booking I bloods when pregnant?

I always assumed I'd had chicken pox, I don't remember it but I've not caught it as an adult and none of my 3 kids have had it despite being in contact with it several times.

Anyway, I'm 28 weeks with dc4 and today I've had a really itchy bump and on closer inspection I have lots of blister type spots come up all over the top of my bump and around my side. Confused
I've had a cold recently and chicken pox is everywhere atm.
Would they have checked for immunity during the regular bloods or do I need to get tested asap?

They store your blood so they can check for chicken pox immunity if you come into contact with it. It could be a pregnancy type rash but I'd definitely see your gp tomorrow morning so they can tell you what the rash is x

They can check your bloods taken at booking in. They are doing this for me at the moment as my husband has chicken pox. I'm 99% sure I've already had it but they wanted to double check. They said if I'm not immune i need an injection ASAP. Definitely get yourself checked out x

Thanks, I'll give them a call tomorrow. My Mum passed away so I can't ask her and my older sisters are both unsure.

I'm sure i must have, the amount of times we've all been exposed without actually catching it, I always assumed I'd had it! Although my kids haven't had it (well no spots etc I'm 100% sure) and they've been exposed too many, many times.

You can catch chicken pox twice but it may be shingles so don't rule it out xxx

How big are the spots? I broke out in tiny pinhead sized spots/rash all over my bump and books ... turned out it was dup to my internal body temp rise and hormones ... but any rash/spots should be checked out so make that appointment and tell the receptionist you have a suspect rash ... They will segregate you while you wait :) keeps you away from anyone else's nastys ya don't want or need!!
