Really worried I am squashing her! I know you shouldn't sleep on your back and I do try to sleep on my left side but I am so paranoid when I am on my side I am squashing her! Does anyone else have this?!

You are not squashing her.

Unborn babies become more active during your sleep and sleep while you are awake because they get a rocking movement when you walk etc.

You are supposed to sleep on your side if possible, I think it might even be the left side... I can't remember.

You're fine. They just enjoy a good kick when you're resting.

She is moving because your abdomen is relaxed and the blood supply is good!
Babies tend to get quiet when they are distressed.

generally left side is the most ideal. they say right side and back sleeping can effect your circulation but i'd say you can sleep in these positions if they're comfortable. i tried sleeping on my right side and baby kicks me in a way i can tell she wants me to move!

You're supposed to sleep on your left side it increases blood flow to the baby.

Littlehopeful · 09/02/2015 06:36

Right side doesn't effect circulation it's supposed to damage the liver but either side is better than on your back.

Damages the mums liver ? How?

Littlehopeful · 09/02/2015 10:07

Laying on your right side puts pressure from the uterus on the liver so some doctors suggest it can lead to liver damage but it's still better than sleeping on your back or tummy

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 09/02/2015 14:07

Oh okay, scary! I always sleep on right side! Ill try sleeping on left from now on.

geekymommy · 09/02/2015 14:13

No, you're supposed to lie on your side. Left side is supposedly better than right, but either one is supposed to be better than back or stomach.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 09/02/2015 14:33

Okay so it's not too bad if you do end up sleeping on the right!
How confusing it is being pregnant!

Littlehopeful · 09/02/2015 15:20

It's okay to sleep on your right but it's recommended to train yourself into left side sleeping because of your liver
