Had a friend at school called Ffion - that's welsh!

Isn't the Welsh word for darling Cariad? I think that is a lovely word & would make a beautiful name.

We called our DD Caitlin (and have since shortened it to Caiti)
If its any consolation my DP disliked every name that I suggested and even went through a stage of 'superhero' names just to upset me eg - Buffy, Zena warrior princess!!!
Our other thought was Trinity, but when DD arrived she looked more like a Caitlin.

Secur, I think it's Kine-wen. It's from a novel I really enjoyed and the English reader-aloud pronounced it that way. Means "little one" I think...

Cariad is Carry-add, as it is spelt, isn't it? That's how my Welsh Wales Welsh friend Rhian pronounces it anyway. I also think it is pretty. Or another Russian name - Lydia?

One of my best friends is called Daloni (pron. dal on ee) which apparently means 'little dear' in Welsh. Like cariad too (use it on emails to dh) but not sure anyone uses it as a name?
A girl in my baby massage class is called Manon which her mother says works in Welsh and French (her dh is French).
Also Elen as in the fairy (my sister's middle name). My other sister was going to be an Angharad but my step-mother vetoed it. Sooooo many nice Welsh girl's names and I go and have a boy!
