Maternity trousers for work?

I'm 11 weeks today and already my black work trousers are starting to get uncomfortably tight. They were a little snug before and I'm just starting to show. The past couple of days I've used a hairband around the button so they aren't as tight.

Is it too early to start buying maternity clothes? Or should I just buy some in the next size up than I normally am?

Never too early to buy maternity clothes :) I was so bloated in the beginning that I was in maternity trousers from like 6 weeks!

I found that my work trousers were too tight at this stage too. However I couldn't find a pair of maternity trousers for love nor money - my normal size were just that little bit too small and the next size up were so big they would fall down as soon as I let them go.

I'm 18wks and have found elasticated waist trousers from M&S (£16) to be a godsend

Never too early if you're uncomfortable. With next size up, they're will be baggy everywhere else. So either maternity (I got some lovely pairs from Esprit) or elasticated ones, as recommended.

Thanks for the advice. Guess I'm just worried if I buy now, they won't fit when I'm huge Grin

But like you say, not worth being uncomfortable!

Try Matalan. That way, they don't cost a fortune and if you need to get bigger ones as time goes on, so be it.

I bought new look over the bump in next size up and normal size. Bought online so could post the other pair back. Size up was perfect, felt big at first but I folded over tummy bit down. Best £12 I spent!

you won't necessarily get bigger all over, I was in the same size of maternity work trousers the whole pregnancy.

Got my work trousers in Dorothy Perkins , they were adjustable and I loved them and was sad to let them go. Wore them for a year after she was born. They were about £20

I had the same problem brought some in the next size up from next which are working for now. But have brought some maternity jeans as mine were too uncomfortable and I'm only 13 weeks! So I say be comfortable I'm sure all too soon it won't be possible not matter what we wear Smile
