12 week scan worries (first timer)

Tomorrow I will finally be having my 12 week scan. This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm so nervous for the whole thing.

I've had a lack of typical pregnancy symptoms like morning sickness etc, I've really only had a bout of tiredness, sore boobies in the first few weeks and put on weight around my middle.

The 1st thing I'm worried about is that I'll have my scan and there won't be a baby in there. Is that normal to think that???

The 2nd thing is that in my 1st MW appt I was weighed and placed with a BMI higher than the healthy bracket. I've heard having a bigger tummy makes it harder to do the US scan. Is this true? I'm a size 16 (more 18 now) and do carry weight on my tummy, so I am a bit worried. My hospital letter said I should come to the scan with an empty bladder, but I've heard it's better to have a fuller bladder when you're a bit chubbier.

Are these typical worries?? Or am I being daft?!

P.S good luck anroga, I'll have my fingers crossed for you!

Lovely news Lucegoose must be so nice to be able to finally shout from the rooftops I am pregnant! Lol!

So exciting to be able to also finally buy some stuff, can't wait for that bit!

Thanks for your good luck wishes, ticking the days off (literally am on the calender) for my first scan on the 19th.

Had a huge nose bleed in the night which I of course googled straight away this morning which confirmed it is a symptom of pregnancy due to your hormones etc, never been so pleased to have a nose bleed! (Apart from having to change the bed tonight when I get home!)
