Despite this being my second section I can't remember how soon you can have a bath after a section. Straightaway if you want one or do you have to wait a few weeks? There isn't any information in my discharge pack and really fancy a nice bath Smile

I was allowed showers whilst I still had my stitches but no baths, so I presume until at least stitches out and everything "sealed" if not fully healed. I guess it's the germs sitting in the warm bath water thst you don't want causing an infection in your wound.

I was told to soak off the dressing in the bath on day five (had c sec 2.5 weeks ago)

From memory i could whenever I wanted, but I couldn't get up! So has showers for a week or so until felt up to it.
Also didn't want to sit in a bath full of lochia!

I had baths when I got home (day 2) but midwife just said don't sit in a boiling hot bath for ages, keep it warm and fairly quick.

Straight away. Day 2 for me to soak off the dressing. Just don't put anything in it like bubbles. I had a warm bath with each baby as soon as I got home.

I was too i could have a bath from when I got home(day 2). In fact the midwife recommended one before they removed my staples!

My midwife said I could have a bath as soon as I got home, but it was about 2 weeks after by the time I got round to it, bit cooler than normal and no bubbles. Was bliss.
