title says it all. I am choosing to not to be overly concerned by this - I had somehting similar in my last pregnancy and all was fine. I have a scan booked on 10 days time and am inclined to just leave it unless the bleeding increased and/or changes colour. does anyone think I should do anything different?

Hi,
I had this with both my pregnancys.

The first one I did nothing and it stopped after a day or so. Normal preg after that etc.
Second preg I had an early scan as I as also having slight pains in my side. I was so upset on the phone to the docs that they arranged a scan for me. I think if I'd seemed calm they would have just left it. Again it stopped but then started agin then stopped copmletely. Normal preg after that.

I think if its only a small amount , you're not in pain and its brownish rather than red then its just normal at that time in the preg. All my friends in RL have bled at this time in their preg.

If you're worried though, go to your docs. xxxx

me too. i think it is very common to have bleeds in early pg, and unless it is accompanied by pain and/or heavier bleeding, i don't think the medics panic.

having said that, sometimes it is nice to be checked over just for reassurance, and that is what I did on all those occasions it happened to me.

I had the same and it was fine, just a bit of old blood. I was scared at the time as it was my first but I don't think I would be too freaked out if it happened again (I hope!). I'm sure it's fine but please do get it checked if you want to. And congratulations on your pregnancy!!

had this with DD's pregnancy

Brown blood is old blood

Can be fairly normal to have a bit of bleeding around 6 or 7 weeks as embryo further implants and this can cause a bit of old bleeding

When I called up to discuss it was told well if it develops into a miscarriage you'll know because of pains and heavy bleeding and there is nothing you can do to stop it happening if its going to happen so just carry on doing what you're doing .. at the time I actually found that quite helpful tbh .. it was so matter of fact (I hope you find it helpful too)

I did have an EPU scan (early pregnancy) because I was concerned .. be warned these are INTERNAL .. and all was fine and DD now playing Pooh-bear dominoes at the kitchen table

almost Thanks all

Twig that is rather my attitude - if it develops into a miscarriage well there is almost certainly nothing they can do.

Still happening - still brown and still a tiny amount.

Hi alexh - I had brown bleeding at 8 weeks and even period cramps - scan showed everything was fine. As others have said here brown blood is old blood, and I was told only to be concerned if it was bright red.
