I am worried that I may have eaten something in a restaurant at lunch time that has put my baby at risk. Has anyone had food poisoning in pgcy and what happened?? I'm really grateful for any reassurance anyone can give!!! Ta Q

A friend of mine was extremely ill with food poisoning whilst pregnant (campyllobacter) but baby was fine - strapping 10 pounder. Try not to worry too much about something that might never happen Quackers. What did you eat?

Thanks Mears just the woman! Have had strange twinges in my tummy as if it's not happy at all for the last hour. Wouldn't normally bother me but have to think of bubbs. I had steak in a pub and it was almost cold when I ate it. Had about 3 mouthfulls and thought I didn;t trust it and it was very pink inside, should have sent it back but we were in a hurry. Would be a shame if I'd done something to harm baby, as I've been so careful!

Really - try not to worrry. Because the seed is planted in your mind you will probably feel unsettled for the rest of the evening. Food poisoning would have resulted in vomiting by now probably. You'll be fine How many weeks are you now ?

Thanks Mears, what would we do without you! I'm 26 weeks now can you believe. Hopefully will be fine! Qx

I had food poisoning at about 11 weeks and wasn't sick but had it at the other end (!) and lots of tummy pains. GP said that the baby is very well looked after inside and is rarely affected by something like this. Even if the mum is starving and throwing up, the baby survives off the mum, quite happily. HTH x

Quackers, I hope you feel better now. I had salmonella while pregnant and dd is fine. It wasn't a pleasant few days though, I can tell you!
