Hello, I hope someone can help me.
About a week ago at 6 weeks I went to hospital with sharp pains and bright red blood, ectopic pregnancy was ruled out as scan showed fetal sac in the right place.
The bleeding stopped and I felt normal-ish again, then on friday I started to get brown spotting again, I've had pains in my stomach but I'm pretty sure it's an issue with my digestive system as it seems to ease when I fart/burp/poo (sorry tmi). The blood hasn't increased at all and had remained dark brown, I haven't needed to wear anything more than a thin panty liner for a whole day and I haven't had period type cramps.. Due for another scan tomorrow but making myself feel sick with worry. Is this the start of a miscarriage? Any help/support much appreciated

I had bleeding at 6 weeks, and am currently 11 weeks and have just had a perfectly healthy scan to confirm it. Bleeding isn't a GOOD sign exactly, but it doesn't always mean pregnancy loss - lots of the time it can be related to things like where the placenta implants in the womb.
Light spotting (like you describe) is not very strongly associated with miscarriage, so i'd stay positive unless your scan is bad.

Thanks so much for your comments. Am trying to stay positive but occasionally get really sharp pains, pretty sure are digestion related but every time it comes on I think it might be start of a miscarriage.

Brown blood tends to indicate old blood not new blood so it's likely to be from your bleed last week. Good luck with your next scan x
