uti at 35 weeks. is it dangerous?

I was told on Fri I had a uti was prescribed antibiotics. I've took them 48hrs now and don't feel any different. I'm up and down to the toilet all the time I get stomach cramps after every time I've been not to mention the constant backache. I look and feel like a bag of shit!
Should the antibiotic have made a difference by now? Can the water infection be dangerous for the baby at all? Or is it just another unpleasant symptom of pregnancy for me?

48hours isn't that long really give it a day or two more an you should feel a difference if you don't contact your mw or gp

I had a uti every trimester with dc2. Had no symptoms though. Give the antibiotics a couple more days then head back to gp if still no change.

Yeah, and get them to do a sample for culture so they can check they got the right antibiotic as not all bacteria respond to the same antibiotic, even if it is broad spectrum. If you get a temperature over 37.5 call the hospital to talk to someone as you may need closer observation or IV antibiotics. Otherwise it should settle. No orange juice, no caffeine, as these will make it hurt more when you pee. Lots of water, and then a few glasses of lemon barley water, or cranberry juice as these help with the burning when you pee. No sex till it resolves too (can cause bruising and make it worse).

Thanks they sent my sample off said would get results tomorrow and contact me if I needed different antibiotics. All I have been drinking is tea and Robinson orange squash oops! And sex is definitely out the question at present I couldn't think of anything worse ha. I could murder a massive glass of wine . Can the infection harm the baby or Is it just me it affects?

Avoid alcohol too (definitely makes it worse!!)

In worst cases it can trigger labour if left untreated, but generally it will make you unwell, it can cause you to feel crappy (which you do) it can also cause vomiting and consequently dehydration in which case you have to go to hospital. If you get a temperature or dehydrated then it can put the baby's heart beat up, but that doesn't "harm" the baby. But in that situation you would be in hospital being monitored (both of you).
