Linea Negra

I got a 'tummy line' when I was pregnant with my son. I am now expecting a girl and have not developed a linea negra. Does this only happen with boys?

I had one with dd, didn't go away until she was about 1! Maybe it develops later?

I don't think the sex matters. I didn't get one with my DS.

I got quite a dark one with both girls. Most of it gone by about 2 years after B was born 12 years ago.

Incidently my ex (spit!!!) thought it was sexy. Like his road map to heaven he called it. Urgghhhh!

I didn't get one at all with DS and this time at 25wks pg I haven't got one either..... am I weird?

I had one with dd - and after the birth my belly button was brown inside for months, deffo weird. Not got one yet but am only 23 weeks so not sure when it arrives.

I have read somewhere that since the linea negra is pigmented skin, sunlight makes it more pronounced. In my case it adds up. I have not been pregnant in the summer this time around and have not got a dark line at all. Last pregnancy was different i.e pregnant during summer and very dark line...Does this theory work for anybody else?

Yeah I was pregnant through the summer with both!
and had lines with both, and my tummy button was brown for ages after too....v. weird!

I applied fake tan to my belly in a attempt to make it look a bit decent. All that happened was it stained the line and my belly button really dark brown. No amount of scrubbing has removed it. I look as if I havent washed. I hope it fades soon!

I didn't have one with my first pregnancy and I don't have one with this pregnancy either. Both girls.
