In regular pain, 3 days of diarreah (soz TMI) could this be early labour?

I'm 35+2 with twins. First twin is not yet engaged.

Until today I have been eating and drinking and even going to work as normal despite having loose stools, been up all night on the loo for three days, last night was the worst and now I can't face eating. I saw the GP yesterday because my stools were green (bile) yesterday, but my sample won't be sent until Monday and no results expected back until Thursday! Maternity triage were not concerned at all yesterday.

However today I've been getting tummy cramps, started off as period pain but I suspect it was bowel pain because soon after I'd go to the loo. But all morning I've been getting what I would class as painful Braxton hicks (they've never been painful before), they are really regular, every minute or so, then maybe a 10 minute break.... But they only cover the top half of my bump, they down go down to the bottom.

Ladies, could this be the start?

It could be although Braxtons only last an hour on and off and have no pattern so they more likely be contractions ... I would call assessment/labour and ask to be checked out ... have your BP checked and make sure the runny bum isn't causing dehydration. 35 weeks with twins you would think they would be a little more concerned!!

I feel torn between ringing and them suggesting I go in ( whilst I have loose stools I'd much rather stay at home), but if this is the beginning at 35 weeks I'd need steriods.

Can you actually go into labour when the baby is not engaged?

How on earth does labour work when you have diarreah?

The loose stools are what is considered the pre labout clear out ... your body getting rid of as much waste as it can before the event ... The spasms can then initiate contractions! Some babies don't engage until last minute and you have 2 in there to fight for pole position!
Call maternity for advice ... steroids need to be given sooner rather than later and you shouldn't be expected to labour alone with twins :)

And don't worry about a thing ... bodily functions and the sometimes messy results are all part and parcel ... you won't shock anyone!!!!!

I would go into your maternity unit to get checked out.

Definitely get checked out. Sooner rather than later and as a pp said you have two in there and it can be last minute when they engage
