Has anyone else experienced this?? For the last few days all I've done is scratch my back and legs! To the point I'm almost drawing blood!!

My midwife warned me about this, I can't remember what she said now but I'd give yours a call, she said to ring her if I got itchy so it does mean something.

I think you should speak to your midwife about this

It can be a problem with liver function so please contact your midwife asap. You willpprobably need to be monitored closely to ensure you and baby remain well.

Please speak to your midwife, it could be a serious condition linked to your liver. My dsis had the severe itching but I can't remember what it's called just that it was taken very seriously.

Something to do with a liver condition that you need to get checked straight away. But might just be the stretching of your skin

I had this, right down to drawing blood on my legs, around 20 weeks. I don't want to worry you but I ended up being hospitalised for several days, so please gt it checked out ASAP.

Not knowing whether I should be worried now or not. If it's still as bad by Monday I'll ring my midwife I think.

If you can't get through to a midwife Id maybe call triage just for some advice. If it's come on quite suddenly it could need checked fairly quickly.

Can indicate liver problems. I'd get it checked.

My friend had this, and all was well, but she needed monitoring and they were also able to give her some meds to soothe the itch

Yeah obstetric cholistasis tends to happen third trimester and tends to involve itchy palms, but they should be checking you out and making sure it is just regular itching and hopefully giving you something to relieve it!

I had this too when I was pregnant, especially in my boobs and it was AGONY. Midwife wasn't concerned (although he did mention the itchy palms as something to watch) and I spent a lot of my time washing in cold water and slathering aqueous cream with camomile all over myself. Not particularly glamourous but it did the trick!

Thanks everyone. I just called maternity triage and they've said they don't think it's pregnancy related, they think it's too early to be relating to liver issues etc. Good to get checked for definite though. Thanks again everyone!

35+3 and I have cholistasis. I was told I would be induced at 35 weeks but baby's head was too high up. They done a sweep 5 days ago and this morning I woke up vomiting with irregular period like pain the past 4 days. I was just wondering when I should go to the hospital seen as its a high risk pregnancy.
