Nearly 6 weeks - keep wanting to test!

I'm sure I'm not the only one here, but just need reassurance that I'm not going mental (usually would find solace in wine but....).

Got BFP a week ago yesterday (tested on day AF due), Clearblue Digi said 2-3 weeks. Tested again on Monday with normal test and still positive. So should be 6 weeks on Monday.

I don't know if its because its my first time and because all I've got is sore boobs, but I keep wanting to test to check it's still there. Called the doctors earlier to book in and felt like a total fraud. DH wants to tell his parents tomorrow (they will totally guess if I'm off the booze anyway) and fighting the urge to test in the morning just to make sure we are actually right in what we are telling them!

Nutter or normal?! :)

I was the same. I did a digital with conception indicator each week to watch the weeks going up. I knew it was a bit mad and probably a waste of money but it helped me feel reassured.

Thanks Magpie. Stupid but I'm wishing I paid the extra and bought the conception indicator ones for the same reason.

Hey ho - probably just need to try and forget about it!

I was the same with my first pg: I'd bought 4 Pound Shop ones (all tested ++), then bought two from Boots (tested ++).

I didn't believe I had a baby inside me until I saw her on the 12w scan.

She's definitely real, almost 6yo now and sitting watching TV with me as I write this Smile

I wanted to test over and over, too, both times I've been pregnant. I didn't do it, but I wanted to.

CakeInMyFace · 23/01/2015 20:26

Im 6 weeks on Monday too and so far I've done 15 tests! Its a long waited second pregnancy and we were about to have a private ivf referral. Told we'd be unlikely to conceive naturally again. So can't quite believe it and terrified of something going wrong, despite lots of symptoms. I must stop I know!

Dogsmom · 23/01/2015 20:35

I did 3 with my first daughter out of excitement then took a photo of it to look at instead when I felt tempted, with this one I only did one test because it was a £10 digital one and didn't have the spare cash to keep forking out so did lots of wipes to check for blood instead!!

sianihedgehog · 23/01/2015 20:55

I must have tested about 15 times. I bought a massive pack of 30 tests off Amazon for like £4, so it wasn't costing me much... except that like Magpiecursedtea I bought a bunch of the conception indicator ones and watched the weeks count up as well.
I'm now 11 weeks and still the only symptom I really get is tiredness, so I really needed some kind of confirmation at the beginning!

I don't want to upset anyone but there is no point constantly testing (i done this at first) but even if you've had a missed miscarriage or your pregnancy isn't viable you will can show up as pregnant on tests for quite a period of time afterwards.

Congrats to everyone try and relax (easier said than done)

WasWebb81 · 24/01/2015 08:33

Thanks ladies, just a bit of a funny time I guess. I will be moving away from the the tests and attempting to forget about it!

You could always have a reassurance scan if you can't relax - I'm having one today due to lack if symptoms (8 weeks) I know things can still change but If the scan is well hopefully it'll put my mind at ease abit

Good luck today currentlyclueless [smike]
