Thrush-no pessary and no tablet?

I know that when using Canesten when pregnant you're not supposed to use the pessary or take the tablet. I've just looked over the cream and it says for external use only. How exactly does that treat anything? Surely if the problem is inside the vagina it needs to be treated there somehow?

I'm going to have to call the bloomin doctors aren't I?

I'm sure I was given the pessaries by my midwife, are you sure they're not allowed?

Also, there's always natural yogurt...

You can have the pessary while pregnant, just not the tablet. I did a few times.

If you're visibly pregnant though, you may have to go to the doctor anyway as pharmacists won't usually sell it to you.

I take long term antibiotics and suffer regularly with thrush as a side effect. I used the pessaries throughout both pregnancies with no problems whatsoever. I'd go to your gp and ask again.

Aaaah. I've since read the instructions. it's the applicator you're not allowed-not the pessary. I take it you just pop it manually?

Yes just use your finger to pop it in. The issue with the applicator is it can scratch your already sensitive cervix and cause infection. Like pp said if your visibly pregnant pharmacists won't sell you it but I found that most cashiers in supermarkets don't question you and allow you to buy.

Oh no I have it already. Spoke to the duty Doctor and he prescribed it and it was sent straight to my pharmacy. I think in my haste I might have uttered 'I know what I'm doing with it' because I was trying to fend off a toddler who wanted to speak to daddy on my phone

I had terrible thrush last month . Chemists are not allowed to sell you thrush treatment so you will have to go to drs instead (at least it will be free prescription ) . I had cream and pessary so I am sure your dr will give you both .

Had this a fe weeks ago, like everyone else said, pharmacist wouldn't help, but doctor prescribed usual Cannestan Dual. Took 4 uncomfortable days to get an appointment & prescription so when it hadn't cleared a couple of weeks later I just ordered another dose from Amazon Prime; obviously I had to pay but it saved a lot of faff and cleared it up. Don't use the applicator and don't insert too high up. The gel pessary is less messy and in my case more effective than the tablet pessary.

But I've done the deed with the pessary and actually feel much better already. So obviously it was the right move.
