Engagement of baby's head - or cystitis?

I am seeing my MW on Sat morning so will ask her but wondered what you wise people thought!

Over the last couple of days I have been feeling masses of pressure on my pelvic floor and bladder. Last night it was so much I couldn't sleep at times. It's like a kind of low down crampy feeling inside and to the bottom of the bump, around cervix and urethra. I keep wanting to relieve by having a wee but this doesn't help.

I have never had cystitis before and cannot decide whether this urge to wee is that, or whether the baby's head is really engaging and pressing down. Any thoughts?

Hello!

I'm 37 weeks and feel your pain on this one, my little lady is engaged and I often get this feeling. I haven't got cystitis or a UTI, not sure if this helps!

:)

How many weeks are you? Sounds like the baby engaging but take a pot of wee to be dipped just in case Smile

yes, I'm quite prone to UTIs anyway, but have noticed this pressure feeling with the occasional "stabby" pain that I usually get with cystitis, for a couple of weeks now- I'm 37 weeks today. I have had 2 samples tested over the last few weeks and both came back clear (though did have a real UTI that needed treatment before xmas, and that came on very suddenly!). I think it's just one of those things. wishing you all the best!

Oh yes it probably would have helped if I said how far I was! 38w 3d. So end of days here!

Thanks all, will ask MW to dip on Sat.
