What do you all think of the name Briagh? Not entierly sure of the correct spelling, shall have to ask DM. Its the scottish gaelic word for beautiful. Pronounced Bree-ah.
My other choice for a girl is Rachel Anne.

hadn't even concidered the first one til I was chatting about names with a taxi driver, he was going to use it if one of his dss was a girl. He was genuinely shocked and moved when i told him I knew what it meant. What a sight me and a taxi driver bubbling out side the doctors surgery lol.

I like Briagh; could be shortened to Bree.
Think the spelling might be awkward though - one of those names no one knows how to spell.

I think it's beautiful but I feel sorry for people who always have to spell their name. My old surname was one that I constantly had to spell and it really does p* you off!

love it,like briar as in the rose.

I can remember my parents and grand parents chatting away to me in gaelic, it always made me feel special when they used briagh when i was little.

Hence the hormonal tears in the taxi

Briagh's great and quite unusual even up here in Scotland.

Go for it.

Rachel is a fab name, and not many about now, although loads of mums called Rachel (quite funny - when I shout 'Rachel - pack that in!' at my three year old in wacky warehouse, four women look round...) I like Briagh, but am not brave enough to give own kids such unusual names...

generaldogsbody1 · 18/10/2006 12:37

DS1 is fraser, DS2 is Neil, I can't think of another boys name though.

I don't think DP will go for Briagh, but I have 5 months to convince him lol.

Still not sure though, keep the opinions coming
