Anyone else's eyelashes gone all thin and stumpy?!?

6 months and have noticed that my eyelashes have thinned and become really short! Whilst I was never blessed with fabulously lash tactic eyes, they could at least hold their own with a decent dose of mascara, but now I look like a little old lady! Is this a pregnancy thing and so they come back?! Thanks, Stumpy.

Mine! Iv always thought I look like a boy without my mascara on, but now I look like a boy with it on as well! The hair on my head has really thinned out as well. But my stomach has become really grizzly!

Does becoming pregnant turn you into a man?! Grin

Hi Chicken fillets, i'm glad it's not just me! Weirdly my hair has stayed very thick, but I also have a furry tummy and now I come to think of it even my eyebrows are looking a bit sparse. So weird. Last pg I lost all my body hair (but not eyelashes) and had a girl. This time body hair remains but facial hair falling out, and I know I'm having a boy. I wonder if there's any correlation? [ponders awhile....]

I had my dd 6 months ago and have been thinking recently that my eyelashes are looking shorter! Is this why? Pregnancy does strange things!

TheScenicRoute · 21/01/2015 20:22

Yes, yes, yes!!!
Omg, I thought it was just me. My head hair is great and magically self cleaning (I used to have to wash it daily but can now go 4 days!!), my leg hair doesn't grow as fast, unfortunately the lady garden can reach monsterous proportions so not blessed there. But my lovely long eye lashes are now all stubby and mascara doesn't make any difference!

Nobody has yet confirmed they grow back, I guess it'll take months after pregnancy to to find out.

Yes my eyebrows are now non existent Hmm I'm having a boy too. Maybe it does have something to do with it.

Hi everyone! I'm 27+3 and expecting a baby boy and I've also noticed hair loss/thinning! I only said to my partner the other day that I thought my eyelashes felt shorter! A few weeks ago I also thought my eyebrows were looking a bit patchy but I'm not too sure. Not sure about the hair on my head as I have lots of hair so I perhaps wouldn't notice as much if I was losing a lot of that. But my leg hair isn't growing as much (I used to shave every day!) and doesn't seem as dark. My arm hair is the same too (I really dislike my arm hair as it's so dark) but it doesn't seem as dark now and seems in some areas it hasn't grown! Weird xx

Hi there mommas I guess it’s a hot thing because my eye lashes shorten with my boy but not my dd (she’ was my first) and now after him my eyes are non existent and mascara feels kinda embarrassing to put on sucks

I'm 26 weeks and my eyelashes have got SO BAD. Unbelievably thin and short and rubbish! Whereas my head hair is lush! So so weird. Cant even do mascara on them!

baldafrique · 22/06/2021 04:27

Also having a boy!

Mamamellie86 · 12/01/2022 04:22

Oh god finally some answers! I was looking at my tiny little short very thinning lashes (after mascara) and cried. So not what I'm used to. Phew, a few more weeks to go. Anyone know how long after it takes for things to get back to normal?

pistachi0nuts · 15/03/2022 10:55

bit late to this thread, but I'm 16 months PP and have struggled with all my usual mascaras, nothing seems to work anymore and then I put two and two together and realised that when I was losing all my hair last year I must have also been shedding eyelashes too. it's not the mascara its my rubbish eyelashes! makes a massive difference to my face. the hair does come back, not sure if the eyelashes ever come back fully

One of my BFF's is a lash tech and I remember him telling me a few years ago that he can tell when someone is pregnant because of their lashes!

I'm in very early stages but I'm curious to see if he ever says anything before I announce the news (he's a very forward type who would not hesitate in asking outright).

Wifflywafflywoo · 15/03/2022 15:28

31 weeks pregnant with a girl. About two thirds of my hair fell out between 15-17 weeks, my leg and underarm hair barely bothers anymore and my belly didn't go hairy at all. Eyelashes have gone thinner and shorter for sure.

I go for a monthly bikini wax (haven't been able to see down there for ages now) and the girl who does it said last time that every time I come the hair is less and less. Kind of pleased as it means it's not as painful but I'm dreading it coming back in after birth...I'm imagining it making up for 9 months of being sparse by gracing me with a huge 70s bush 😄
