hi just found out im pregnant. I am 21 years of age (22 in March). Now my problem is I have the opinionated mother. Shes amazing dont get me wrong but likes to give her 2 cents on everything unfortunately. I have no idea how to tell her. I think she will be furious and I dont want to feel horrible about telling her. Can somebody please recommend ways of telling her? Also we dont live together or in the same country, Im in Liverpool and shes in Ireland so it cant be a face to face.

My mum was with me when I found out with dc1 she bought the test...I was 16 and thought she would go mental. She was really supportive, bought everything I would need for baby (after my scans) and held my hand and guided me through 38 hours of labour. So she may not react the way you think.
With dc 2 she told me to take a test. I was 22 by this point so went home peed on a stick and phoned her. She laughed. With this one the same as dc2 only a bit more shock as I was on the pill and dc2 wasnt even 1 when I found out. Just phone and tell her that you have some news...tell her that she is going to have a grandchild and that her support would mean a lot to you as you would love for your child to have a close relationship with its grandmother. Good luck hun and congratulations

I fell pregnant just before my 19th, I was terrified to tell my dad as I'd only been with my partner 4months. Cheekily my 8 year old newphew told him before I did, but his reaction was fine. At the end of the day whatever her reaction is now, once babys here she's going to adore him/her either way. So be upfront, the later you leave it the more disappointed/upset she might feel that you couldn't tell her sooner. Hope that helps abit :)

Me: Mum your going to be a gran... Mum: Shock how did that happen?! Me: Blush Mum?!

Then she was pretty excited
