Preganant on the mini pill?

Been on the mini pill since having DS (10m) as you can't be on my old one while breastfeeding. Having some symptoms which remind me a lot of being preggo
(And have no stick to pee on) so just wondering how common is it to get up duffed on the mini pill? I know I was warned lots when I first had DS that you can get pregnant easily soon after but presumably that fades after a few months? I made the mistake of asking DrGoogle and a lot of emphasis seemed to be out in taking the pills at the same time each day.....

I have a mini pill baby aged 2 now in the next room asleep, I didn't even know until 23 weeks!!
now I know about the time thing also thanks to google

Which pill?

Because yes, if you are not taking them at the same time each day (very narrow window for some brands), then you could be at risk.

Hi, I am one of the people who have fallen pregnant on mini pill. My DD was 5 months old. I'm now here with 2 weeks till due dates. Hope you get the outcome you are wishing for. X

dementedpixie · 18/01/2015 21:03

you do have to take them around the same time each day but it also depends which one you are taking as some have a 3 hour window in which to take them whereas some of the others have a 12 hour window.

I was on the mini pill (cerazette) for a few years with no unwanted pregnancy although I sometimes felt I was.

GreenGrassStains · 18/01/2015 21:05

I got pregnant with DD on cerazette, was punctual taking it as I set alarm each day, and hadn't been sick or had diahrea. Had been on it for 2 years, no bleeding until 18 months in then about 6 months later conceived but didn't find out for 10 weeks.
The doctor later told me bleeding can make it less reliable though she had said it made no difference when I had previously asked her before falling pregnant.

I am now on the implant and have made it past the 2 year mark with no surprise arrival yet! Smile it's meant to be 100% effective if correctly inserted apparently, and I've had no side effects so might be an idea for you! Smile

Me and my dsis both fell pregnant on the mini pill (not at the same time). I had been using it for 4 months and taking it at the same time every day, dd was 9mo at the time. My dsis had been taking it for 5 years before she fell pregnant

Charingcrossbun · 18/01/2015 21:09

It's cerelle.
Thing is now the thought is in my head I feel pregnant when it's probably just AF. I find this pill weird as you don't stop and have a period. I just have very very light bleeding every so often...
I would love another baby so its not necessarily a bad thing but am meant to be going back to work/applying for new jobs so timing wouldn't be ideal!
If it's a 3 hour window then I'm in trouble - my baby only started sleeping more than 3hrs in a row last week so I have been haphazard with my timings so a while although that has also meant very little op for sex so if I'm pregnant it's done well!

My DS was a cerezette baby. This one is a micronor baby mini pills aren't my friend it appears

GreatJoanUmber · 18/01/2015 21:23

My now 1yo is a mini pill baby (micronor) - had been taking it at the same time every day, not missed one etc, just started feeling really crummy at some point and went to the Dr with what I thought might be a thyroid problem! Turns out I was 7 weeks along and it was early pregnancy symptoms...
Just talked DH into getting a vasectomy, as honestly I couldn't deal with another surprise baby, but seems like it wouldn't be too bad in your case. Good luck with whatever happens!

ThedementedPenguin · 18/01/2015 21:26

I have a 2 year old ds cerazette baby.

It is very common to get pregnant on the mini pill.

Dannie22b · 18/01/2015 21:31

Mine was micronor and I took it to my phone alarm. My DD came via csection and I didn't want to fall pregnant, so was really ott about taking it.
Maybe pop to local shop and get a test?

Charingcrossbun · 18/01/2015 21:35

I am on the mini pill i missed a few so had to double up then on Sunday I took it and had sex with my partner but I've forgotten to take it again and today is Tuesday is there a chance you can fall pregnant? We would love another baby as we lost one few months back, but my GP said you can't get pregnant as you don't ovulate on it, I do get breakthrough bleeding with the pill but nothing just now slight discharge that's it I'm on cerazette also xx
