I am almost 12wks with no.2 and was interested to see when other mums felt their 2nd, 3rd, 4th babies move. I felt my ds move when i was 18wks and i know that you are supposed to feel other pg's ealier, but how early thats the question...?

Felt first at 16 weeks

Felt second at nine and a half weeks - even the consultant did not believe me but definitely definitely did.

Felt third and fourth move both around 10 weeks.

LMAO I started reading the thread, read the second answer and thought, oh god that sounds just like me. It was LOL

No idea why they say you can't feel it that early, I couldn't care less either, I know I did, so it doesn't really matter.

The worse part was at around 16 weeks I had a couple of days of not feeling him, went to hospital to get checked out and got told about 100 times that I wouldn't have been feeling anything in the first place. That pissed me off a bit.

I am now 22 weeks, think I've felt some occasional 'pulsing'/poking type movements but but nothing major - is this normal?

tinkisexcitedabouthavingababy · 08/11/2008 16:32

first baby 16-17 weeks, this time 14-15 weeks-think i was more aware of how the initial movements feel second time around...(and possibly my stomach muscles are even more knackered than the first time )

rolo-it varies an awful lot between women.

Starlight - it's supposed to be impossible to feel anything as early as 9 weeks because the baby has to be both big enough and heavy enough to actually reach the side of your womb to kick it, and kick it with such force that the nerve endings in your abdomen would feel it. I think a baby at 9 weeks is about 1.5 cm long and weighs less than 10 ounces. I've never felt mine move that early (although I was very windy)! but who knows? I did feel movement from about 14 weeks with my second though...
