Feeling worse at second trimester?

I've felt generally OK up till now (13 weeks) but the last week or so I've just felt sick, tired, and generally like I've got a hangover! (but obviously not that!).

Not sure if I've picked up a bug or if it's common for symptoms to kick in after 12/13 weeks? I so hope this doesn't last!

I felt worst 16-20 weeks for some reason! It passed after that and I felt fine.

Also have you recently had your dating scan? Sometimes I think there can be a mental as well as hormonal side to these things - ie the pregnancy has been formally confirmed and things really start to sink in.

I've felt much worse since 14 weeks until now (26 weeks) than I did before, now that it's big enough to cause havoc with heartburn, back, pelvis and rib pain, broken sleep, swelling...ugh!

BumWad · 18/01/2015 11:39

I was feeling shitty up until 12 weeks, and then wham what I thought was shitty got shittier at 13 weeks, I puked and lay in bed until 14 + 3 where I have gradually starting feeling better! I'm now 14+6 and hoping I am turning a corner.

After much googling like yourself it seems a lot of people's symptoms seem to peak at 13 weeks before tailing off! Smile

Glad to hear it's not just me! Fingers crossed it's a short lived thing then!

I felt terrible till 8 weeks then felt brilliant. Thought I was over the worse until 14 weeks when I was sick and fainting and feeling generally crap. This week (16) has been better but now the back ache is really kicking in. It's not much fun this pregnancy lark is it?

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/01/2015 14:20

Apart from some nausea in the first 12 weeks I felt ok, then week 12 hit and the morning sickness really started until 18 weeks, then I just felt knackered and it's no better now at 31 weeks in fact the tiredness just gets worse

sleepybee · 18/01/2015 14:25

My sickness really went out of control about 13/14 weeks and it eased around 20 weeks. I'm still mega tired all the time now 25 weeks

MissTwister · 18/01/2015 14:43

I started feeling much more sick a few days ago at 12 weeks. Before I felt nausea before I ate but now I feel really sick after I've eaten and when I drink liquids which is far more annoying. Am also still exhausted

Guyropes · 18/01/2015 16:50

Oh no! This thread is alarming! I've been counting on an improvement after12 weeks!

fattymcfatfat · 18/01/2015 17:07

I have been feeling worse just recently (im nearly 14 weeks). But all pregnancies are dif. My 1st was plain sailing not a single problem, my second much worse all the way through problem after problem. This one I have been fine until recently so hopefully it will pass.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/01/2015 17:13

Guyropes if it makes you feel better I remember feeling really good for weeks 19 -22, no sickness and more energy Smile

Guyropes · 18/01/2015 18:05

Hopefully things will pick up.. It's my 3rd, and like fatty says, each is different. I was worrying that its my increased age and an indicator I was not in such good health this time. I'm just trying to be grateful that I've only had a few headaches... Had forgotten the 5 week long headache I had from 16 weeks ish the first time... Yuk.

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 19/01/2015 08:47

Feeling a bit more normal today after a miserable 3 days, so hopefully that's it over! Last pregnancy was a breeze but this one is a bit tougher - having an early rising 2 year old to chase after is probably the main cause! Quite looking forward to my work days this week!

So glad to hear you feel better today. Im shattered but thats probably because I was up all night with my 1yo who has recently decided that sleep is overrated. She used to sleep through the night!
