Is there anything I can do or take?
Its driving me crazy, have had a blocked nose for over a week now and have face ache and a pain in my head when I blow my nose..... Feeling very sorry for myself!
Feeling like I need to sort this out before I go into labour! If my head hurts when I blowy nose it will explode when I'm pushing!!!!

Go to your GP - I got something on prescription (can't remember what I'm afraid) when I was pg with DS2.

I don't like taking anything when pregnant and wanted to avoid antibiotics as long as possible so I bought a sinus rinse kit (about a tenner by Neilmed I think) from the chemist.

It basically uses salt water to rinse all the gunk out of your sinuses. Safe to use in pregnancy and feels rather weird but worked amazingly well for me - within two days I was feeling a ton better.

I'd definitely recommend giving it a try, I was amazed how well it worked and will definitely use again if I need.

Paracetamol and a sinus rinse. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Cross posted with Captain!

And sorry (I probably wasn't clear) the kit is basically a squeezy bottle and you squirt saline solution up one nostril and it rinses through your sinuses and comes out the other nostril.

Weird! And feels a bit yucky but for some reason you don't drown!

I had this when pregnant (nearly 2 years ago now). It was miserable and you have my sympathies. I found drinking loads of really hot liquid helped, I had a huge mug of herbal tea permanently on the go. Fennel is meant to be good for sinuses. Also steam inhalation was helpful. Wish I'd heard of the sinus rinse, it sounds great. Hope you feel better soon.

I had this as well when pregnant with DS2 - the pain was excruciating! As I don't like taking medication whilst pregnant, I went to an acupuncturist - it was expensive but did the trick. I did have to see her at least once a week for a few weeks to keep the pain at bay.

Good luck Op as I remember the pain.
