I'm 15 weeks pregnant with my second child. I have a 4 year old son who I had terrible morning sickness with from weeks 4-10. I felt sick and was sick constantly. Nothing eased it.

This time around I had no sickness until 8 weeks and it's been much more manageable (eating little and often) and I've never vomited. Just felt a bit sick but still feel queasy now at 15 nearly 16 weeks.

Could this mean I'm having a girl this time? I heard girls often cause more sickness but couldn't of been worse with my son.

Also my boobs haven't got much bigger this time around - they felt huge when pregnant with my first.

I'm ridiculously tired but then I do have a demanding 4 year old, a job and a house to keep on top off.

In my experience no - DS I was mildly sick/tired, currently 27 weeks pg with DS2 and have been really sick, exhausted, and anxious all the way through. Completely different cravings too.

weeblueberry · 16/01/2015 21:17

I've had two very different pregnancies and both are girls. Don't think its related I'm afraid!

feetheart · 16/01/2015 21:21

Two identical pregnancies - one girl, one boy so not necessarily.

WingsClipped · 16/01/2015 21:28

Not related. Each pregnancy is different and not linked to sex of the baby

Dogsmom · 16/01/2015 21:33

My two pregnancies have been chalk and cheese too, first one girl and apparently this one is too (been told at two separate scans) although I have my suspicions as nothing is the same.

geekymommy · 20/01/2015 13:58

I've heard that morning sickness tends to be worse with girls than with boys. I found that to be true for me. I'm pregnant with a boy and have a 2.5 yo DD. I was much sicker last time around. I don't think this is a reliable way to predict the baby's sex, though.

Number3cometome · 20/01/2015 14:02

I had two pregnancies which were identical in terms of sickness - one boy, one girl!

This pregnancy I have been a lot more sick, don't know the sex, but I am firmly placing blame on my new partner haha

fattymcfatfat · 20/01/2015 14:16

Sorry no! Im on number 3 and everyone has been different. ..I have a ds and a dd so god knows what this one is!

Hopingforpeaceandgoodwill · 20/01/2015 14:19

Very different pregnancies but both girls. They are very different in personality though. Horrible pregnancy with major complications and worry - total diva! Easier pregnancy - laid back happy soul!

fattymcfatfat · 20/01/2015 14:26

Hoping...thats my experience aswell ds is soo laid back and I had such an easy pregnancy but dd is total diva only 1 and already throws herself on the floor in a strop! And I had a very difficult pregnancy with her

scarlettsmummy2 · 20/01/2015 14:30

Two very different pregnancies, two girls. My husband thought they had made a mistake!

First pregnancy, terrible sickness and exhaustion, I had a girl.
Second pregnancy, not a moment of sickness, felt completely normal, I had a boy.
Unfortunately it all falls down on the third pregnancy which was just like the second one but was a girl!!

Tranquilitybaby · 20/01/2015 16:12

No, this pregnancy is like my last one with my son, but I'm having a little girl this time.

rubyboo2 · 21/01/2015 07:54

Hi Op
1st ds- No symptoms at all .
2nd ds- HG
3rd ds- Every symptom known to man !

So I guess each pregnancy is different regardless of sex . I was sure I was having a girl this time as it was so different but another boy lol. x

hazel88 · 21/01/2015 08:41

I don't think there's any relation with the sex of the baby and sickness. I'm 4 weeks from my due date carrying a girl and only had a total of about 7 days of sickness early on, but I put this down to severe post nasal drip which made me feel so sick. Although it didn't matter, I was desperate to find out the sex and took every silly little test which claimed they could predict the sex....nearly all predicted a boy! Old wives tales are a load of rubbish and I'm afraid I don't think there's any pattern in symptoms which indicates boy/girl.

Hope you keep well Smile

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 21/01/2015 08:45

I was very sick first time and it was a girl. Even more sick this time (now 16 weeks and still going strong with the sickness!).

Missymum6 · 21/01/2015 08:49

First preg I was sick all day and night (can't remember when it started) this one I feel sick when I first get up then will be sick then feel fine. First preg I felt like a troll this one I feel ok but I'm still early could all change. My first was a girl im convinced its another no ones had a boy yet my mil is itching for one! X

Dailylurker · 21/01/2015 08:51

I've had 3 identical pregnancies and have 2 boys and a girl, I'm on number 4 now and it's totally different so I am terrified of what could be in there!! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 21/01/2015 08:52

Two different pregnancies. Two girls.

Tillytoes14 · 21/01/2015 18:03

My first two were boys, both fairly similar pregnancies, apart from I felt a lot more nauseous (not sick) with my second ds and also suffered an outbreak of spots with both, this time we are having a baby girl, differences are my boobs are bigger and feel heavier, I had a lot of morning sickness this time too, but I have a glowing complexion. I, however don't think symptoms are a sign of a particular sex, my sister in law had awful sickness until she was four months and had a boy, I think symptoms vary with each pregnancy.
