Anyone used Ultrasound Direct for private scans?

Hi,

I am 6+3 pregnant and would like an early pregnancy scan as my job is high risk and I don't feel happy telling colleagues until I have a better idea that things are ok so am currently avoiding tasks with a risk to the pregnancy...not ideal!

Has anyone used Ultrasound Direct (specifically in Newbury?) and if so what were your thoughts? All reviews welcome!

Thanks!

We've used the one in edinburgh/Livingston throughout my last pregnancy and this one and they've been excellent every time bar one (which we commented on -it was a different sonographer than normal). The sonographer we normally have works for the nhs during the week and has always been really patient and informative with us.

I'd definitely recommend them Smile

I used ultrasound direct in Devon and they were brilliant. I was 8+1 and saw a blob with a heartbeat

I have used the Wimbledon and banstead ones and they have been great. They take lots of time to do a scan and give lots of good pictures.

Used them to book with BabyBond in Southampton and I absolutely recommend them! They also have a Facebook page if you wanted to check out more reviews :)

I used the one in Birmingham and it was a good experience.

We used Babybond in Southampton too, for an early scan before 10 weeks and it was great. Saw a jelly baby with a heartbeat. Great comfort, and like you gave me confidence to declare early at work to avoid high risk activities/areas. Am now 33 weeks and all is good!

I had a 9 week scan with Babybond - really recommend them. Nice facilities, nice sonographer, good amount of time taken and I got 9 pictures of the blob. Would absolutely go again.

I had a booked appointment for BabyBond in Newbury (but they cancelled a day before due to sickness). I was surprised that they only offer weekend appointments. Ended up going for an early scan (8 weeks) at Future Babies in Reading. It was cheaper and open 6 days a week and am very very happy with the service and experience. Best wishes for your pregnancy. I had a gender scan at 18 weeks at ultrasound direct in Poole and they were fantastic. I then had a 4d scan at 28 weeks in Cambridge and they were ok but it was a bit rushed! The Cambridge people re confirmed she is a girl though ??

I used them in Bristol for an early reassurance scan and they were fab. They were running a little late but were so apologetic that I don't think it can happen often! Sonographer was lovely, seemed genuinely happy/excited when showing us the baby (jellybean Smile) on the screen. It was pretty quick but there's not all that much they can show you so early (ours was at 8+6). Would go back for a gender scan but can't convince DH Smile

Thanks everyone! I am booked in for next Saturday so 8+3. Excited but nervous! Smile

@countrybumpkingirl how was your experience in Newbury? I'm scheduled for a gender scan tomorrow.

ambientolf · 21/02/2015 13:57

I used Babybond in Manchester and they were great. Good luck with your scan! Smile

countrybumpkingirl · 21/02/2015 15:49

It was good- very efficient and nice big screen on the wall so you could see everything. Going back tomorrow for 12 week scan as DH can't get time off for NHS scan so he would miss out otherwise!
